AWE Society Press publishes visual art, writing and sounds that functions as a tool, a ritual, a score, for personal and collective transmutations in this time of collapse. Using participatory/conversational practices we encourage creativity as responses to systemic oppression and systemic disorder. AWE Society Press brings people together and supports them in finding and developing their voices.
AWE Society Press is stewarded by Bridget Quinn (visual design and priestess of the edgelands), Owólabi Aboyade (text editing, creative coaching and organizing), Anna Sysling (audio maven and frequent contributor), and Han Mathers (production partner and studio pal).
Over the past 5 years we have published 19 books and zines featuring the art and writing of over 100 contributors. Each issue of our quarterly magazine, Therapeutic Edgelands, includes reader artwork and several “invitations” that encourage connection with nearby wilds, creative making, a slower circular sense of time, and the development of eco-social healing practices. Each issue includes a monthly Wheel of Attention journal, an exercise in tending to our attention and memory of the present. In the edgelands, our various ways of sensing and being are celebrated as we utilize art as a tool for our ongoing transformations into powerful beings capable of unsettling cyclical patterns of exploitation and harm, attention and inattention.
